TRUE ANCHORING SECURITY

Observe the anchor in real time.

The ARGUS Anchor Tag transmits actual anchor roll, pitch and speed data to a display onboard the ship in real time by advanced acoustic and wireless technology.

Actual anchor orientation can be seen, signs of the anchor starting to move detected, and anchor speed monitored during setting or dragging.

ANCHORING SECURITY IS KNOWING THE STATE OF THE ANCHOR.

Anchoring security is not realizing that the vessel has moved outside of a theoretical swing circle. By then the anchor is dragging and you are at risk.

Argus provides  real time anchor data to the ships master:

  • Watch the anchor roll and stop to know when it is set.
  • See when the chain lifts off the seabed loading the anchor.
  • Watch the anchor drag speed and roll angle.
  • Watch the anchor respond to re-setting measures.

ARGUS IS IDEAL FOR PLEASURE CRAFT AND COMMERCIAL AND NAVY VESSELS EQUIPPED WITH STOCKLESS ANCHORS

Pleasure Craft: The Argus system comprises of a Transmitter on the anchor shank between the anchor and the chain, a floating Receiver, and a handheld Monitor.

Commercial Shipping/Navy: The Argus system for vessels with Stockless anchors is comprised of a Transmitter bolted to the anchor stock, a magnetic pickup and Receiver on the gypsy or riding chock, and a handheld Monitor.

The Transmitter is mounted on the shank of the anchor and transmits data acoustically to a Receiver:

    • Roll Angle: a direct relationship to holding force, indicating likelihood of pull-out and dragging.
    • Pitch Angle: an early warning of possible anchor movement, rises as chain tension increases.
    • Speed: the anchor is moving at during setting, pull-out, dragging and re-setting.

The Receiver receives, decodes and processes data from the Transmitter.

    • It processes data from up to two anchors paired to the system
    • It relays the data to a hand-held monitor by wireless.

The Monitor receives and displays real time anchor status on an LCD screen.

    • It presents instantaneous anchor orientation images with Roll, Pitch and Speed data.
    • It stores historical data that can be downloaded to a laptop.
